Lodge on a lake is based on our family farm in Michaelstone-y-fedw on the outskirts of Cardiff. Bridgefarm has been in the family for almost 100 years but it was during the lean years in the early 90's that Cefn Mably Lakes was constructed, on the south end of Bridgefarm.
A wet piece of land that produced poor yields year on year, the fishing business was started as more and more farmers diversified away from the hardship of farming. Originally 5 lakes consisting of 3 trout and 2 coarse lakes with an onsite cafe we have grown over the past years to 8 lakes with 9 pods, Cardiff Angling Centre, Wales's largest tackle shop and our new venture 'lodge on a lake'
The whole complex has matured beautifully over the past 20 years and 'lodge on a lake' is a big step in the way we want to progress. Our vision is to create a unique experience in a peaceful and tranquil setting..

The rural location that we are privileged to be part of means of course that when it comes to the latest and fastest technological advances we are always last in the queue!
Well not anymore!!
Mifi broadband is a community led project driven by a handful of very pro-active individuals who have come together to install some of Britain’s fastest broadband!! Every meter of cable, every router installed, every inch of fibre has been laid by local volunteers to provide Cefn Mably and the surrounding areas with speeds of upto 1000mb download and upload speed..
We’re now in a very fortunate position to say that all our cabins now have ultra fast broadband for you all to enjoy!!
