Spring lake

The Spring lake was constructed in 1993 and has beautifully matured over the past 25 years to offer privacy, seclusion and some great fishing, Originally a trout lake, Carp were introduced in 2011 and have thrived ever since. The lake is well looked after with regular netting to remove bream/roach and rudd to allow the Carp to grow and flourish. The largest carp ever stocked in the Spring pond was 15lb, but over the last 10+ years regular growth has seen the stock grow considerably, with over 3 x 30lb, 40 x 20lb fish and numerous high doubles with a largest fish of 32lb 10oz.

You can only fish from the Osprey & Kingfisher cabins. Each cabin has half the lake to fish with markers giving you indications of where and where not to fish. Cradles and large nets must be used as standard. A full list of rules can be found here

Overflow pond - pochard

The pochard cabin is on its own small lake, which was previously know as the overflow pond. It’s our only coarse lake that offers mainly carp between 2-17lb with a mixture of bream and roach. Its great for kids as the fish are heavily stocked and easy to catch. If you want to fish for specimen carp it backs on to peg 12 on the lodge lake. This can be booked during your stay for an additional charge

We’re really proud of these 4 stunning cabins, built during the COVID period the construction of these cabins was difficult to say the least! However here at lodge on a lake we think we’ve created a stunning, quiet secluded fishing (or not!) haven. Each cabin has a stunning composite decking that that drops down to a fishing platform.

The lake that they’re on is the Bridge pond, which was built in 2005 and matured beautifully into a superb lake. It’s always been one of our more popular lakes and is shaped like a figure of 8. In the winter of 2018/19 we heavily netted this lake removing lots of small fish inc bream, carp and roach to leave in the best of our stock, to complement this we stocked 20 fish between 18-22lb and have heavily fed them throughout 2020.

The past few winters has seen a rigorous stocking policy, to remove the smaller carp and leave the lake with a healthy head of larger carp. We now have over 20 x 20lb fish with the biggest weighing in at 30lb 10oz

The oxbow lake was our old 40 peg match pond which is now home to 6 cabins. The lake is perfect for fishing, offering a uniform depth around the lake to provide equal fishing opportunities. There are 3 cabins on each side of the lake separated by a large island.

In the winter of 21/22 we netted the lake to remove as many small carp and bream as we could and stocked the lake with fish between 15-28lb, we repeated this action in the winter of 22/23 to leave a fantastic head of carp between 12 - 30lb
